New Year's Eve

Oh my goodness! I totally forgot! I had a huge story about my New Years celebrations, and I completely forgot to write about it! So off I go, back to December 31st.

Okay so I didn't have any plans for New Years Eve (no surprise there) except watching my little sister. That day I was asked by my neighbor to take care of her dog while they just took a quick road trip for the holiday. She asked if I could go to their house at night on New Years Eve, and in the morning for New Years Day. Well I got caught up with a video game I was playing (games can be addicting) so I didn't notice I was supposed to go until about 11:30 at night. I got all bundled up and asked Chrissie if she wanted to come with me. She said yes so I waited while she got all dressed. Without even thinking, we went outside and started walking to Emilea's house (well we weren't walking. Chrissie wanted to race so we were running). To get to Emilea's house, there is a dark pathway that you have to take.

I had forgotten that people like to party on New Years. We were walking through the pathway and some people started yelling at us. Chrissie and I just kept running and made it to Emilea's house very quickly. We played with the dog for about half an hour and, of course, I forgot about the people that yelled at us.

It was time to go home and Chrissie wanted to race again so we were running. When we got onto the pathway again, the same people started yelling at us. I guess they were prepared for us this time, because some of the jumped the three foot fence and started chasing us. They were chasing us!!!!! They looked about late teens, early twenties and VERY physically fit.

After a few seconds I noticed they still hadn't caught us! Me and Chrissie aren't particularly fast (like, at all) and we were still freely running. I looked back and they were drunkenly staggering, trying to keep up with us. I also noticed that Chrissie had stopped running. I didn't want to scare Chrissie so I kept saying, "I'm going to beat you Chrissie!" Chrissie kept walking. I looked back again and they people were walking away! I don't know why, but they just left us alone! We were just in front of my house and I was breathing so hard! Chrissie caught up to me and I asked her why she didn't run. She simply replied, "I ran out of juice."

First of all, you don't run out of juice! If you are being chased, you don't just stop! You keep running as if for you life (which may sometimes be the case).

Note to Self: Next time, don't try to not scare Chrissie. Scare her so she will actually run!

Moral of this story: Don't go out walking on New Years Eve. It's bad news all the way around!
